The answer to that question is a resounding “NO!”  The Olney JH Boy’s Track Team went to Seymour on Monday night and did just that.  They won and they won and they won.  “There was some really good performances and competition by our young boys at the Seymour track meet last night,” stated Coach Harvey, the 7th and 8th Grade Boy’s track coach.  He also added that the jh boys showed lots of heart in many areas of the competition.

In the field events, 8th grader Zach Soules won the discus throw, Gatlin Guy won the pole vault with a vault of 10’, Bladimir Ramirez won the 2400 m Run, Noah Enriquez won the 800 m Run, Gatlin Guy won the 400 m Dash, Cye Dixon won the 200 m Dash, and  Jacob Hernandez won the 1600 m Run,  In the 7th Grade division, Cameron McCormick won the 800 m Run, the 1600 m Run, and the high jump.  Chris Hernandez won the 1600 m Run, and Leland Wimberly won the shot.

And that’s just the winners of those events.  There were lots of 2nd and 3rd place finishes as well.  “Overall,  the track meet was a huge success for the Olney runners, throwers, and jumpers,” Coach Harvey added.  “This is a special group of student/athletes, and they are loads of fun to work with.”
